The 16808, born in 1979, is the perfect blend of vintage and modern in one watch.

The reference 16800 series from Rolex are considered to be transitional models because they have elements from the previous reference 1680 with technological upgrades. The 16808 features a tritium dial.

The watch also has a higher depth rating of 1000ft/600m whereas the previous model had 660ft/300m.

Rolex upgraded the crystal on these to sapphire from plexiglass.

Finally, this model was fitted with an upgraded movement to feature a quick-set date function, making life a lot easier when setting.

The current example features a beautiful blue dial with blue bezel.

Blue and gold is always a nice combination, especially on the wrist.

This watch has a great blend of vintage styling with modern technology in an all-gold package.
