Very nice example of a 1978 Rolex Sea-Dweller 1665. The 1665 was launched in 1967 until 2008. It was designed from the 5513 Submariner launched in 1953, adding a helium escape valve. Very nice example of a 1978 Rolex Sea-Dweller 1665.

The 1665 was launched in 1967 until 2008.

It was designed from the 5513 Submariner launched in 1953, adding a helium escape valve. Thus equipped, the Sea-Dweller now resists a depth of 610 meters instead of 200 meters for the 5513.

The production of the Double Red Sea Dweller stopped with the 52XXXXX serial numbers.

Since then, a new watch bearing the model number 1665 was born. The new watch had the same case as the 1665, but the dial was now devoid of red paint and new fonts were used and the case back was also different.

The Sea-Dweller remains one of the most sought-after models of collectors.

After the 1665, the 5514 will be released, reserved for the professionals of the COMEX.
