The 5514 is a reference exclusively reserved for COMEX and never marketed.
The COMEX, Compagnie Maritime d'EXpertise was created in 1962 by Henri Germain DELAUZE.
At that time, the COMEX send to its customers divers and technicians with all their equipment, including a Rolex.
After the successful tests by Rolex on the 5513 model with helium escape valve (HEV) between 1969 and 1971, a special reference for COMEX was used from 1972 to 1978, reference 5514. The HEV is located at 9 o'clock on the side of the watch. This valve allows the gas to escape when the pressure difference reaches 3 bar.
The model proposed for sale had a service done by an official Rolex dealer in July 2016.
It has the ROLEX box and the Rolex service card.
