Very nice example of a 1975 Big Red Daytona.
The 6265 models were produced from 1971 to 1988.
The 6265 could have 2nd or 3rd generation pushers. Here our model has 3rd generation pushers.
The 7mm Oyster Triplock 702 with its 3 points above the logo is original.
On this specimen, a Bakelite bezel reserved for reference 6263 was mounted at the former customer demand. The original metal bezel, graduated up to 200 units, is also supplied.
The case is 37 mm diameter and the watch is waterproof.
It is an original dial with the T SWISS T at 6 o'clock. The 2 Ts indicated that the indexes were covered with Tritium.
From 1998, the Tritium was replaced by the Luminova.
The DAYTONA registration comes from the famous endurance race held since 1966 on the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. It is called the ROLEX 24.
Here we have a BIG RED, with red and oily writing which is the valuable model.
The stick style hands had a Tritium application at their ends.
The movement is a 727 manual winding Valjoux caliber.
The Oyster steel bracelet has the original reference, 78350 19, delivered with the DAYTONA watches from 1974 onwards.
The endlinks, reference 2710-571 are original and matching to the model. Size is 19 mm.
These models less and less sold, and collectors are more and more numerous. This remains an excellent investment and I'll let you make the decision…
