This is because it was created to replace the 3970 that the 5970 keeps a very traditional look.

However, it remains the favorite of Patek Philippe contemporary watches with great complications.

The long line of chronographs with a perpetual calendar, has begun with the reference 1518 in 1941, then the 2499, the 3970 and the 5004, was launched in 2004 to be produced until 2010.

Without doubt, its 40 mm diameter and 13,5 mm thick case gives to the 5970 a modern watch and actual style.

The dial was developed by Stern Créations inspired by the 2499 dial. Its black color allows it to be very readable and it is a modern watch that can be worn every day under all circumstances.

It is the last of the great complications chronographs to use the movement ch 27-70 Q which will be replaced by the CH 29-535 PS Q on the new 5270.

But the 5270 new model has not anymore its magnificent square pushers.

The platine version is probably the most exclusive of the 4 versions. The model for sale was sold on October, the 7th, 2009.

A single series for 7 years, which is different from its predecessors.

Less than 4000 units were produced, about 1000 pieces per material for yellow, pink and white gold and about 500 for the platinum model.

The 5970 is an emergency collectible model for all these reasons.
