In order to achieve the highest degree of chronometric performance, François-Paul Journe uses a mechanism that regulates the variations in the driving force and thus transmits a constant force to the escapement: the remontoir d'égalité. Combined with a tourbillon, this device compensates for the negative effects of gravity.
The remontoir d'égalité is a mechanism that delivers a constant force throughout the winding process, so the variable force delivered by the barrel spring to the escapement as it unwinds is equalized. The combination of the remontoir and the tourbillon Souverain successfully highlights the technical and design genius of F. P. Our example, manufactured in 2007, is equipped with the calibre 1403, used only from 2003 to 2018 before being replaced by the calibre 1519.

Journe, it was the first official retailer of the manufacture. Considered one of the finest European clockmakers, La Pendulerie distributed F.P.
