18k yellow gold tilting tank with folding clasp also in 18K yellow gold from the 90s with a superb silver guilloché dial with the Cartier signature hidden inside the Roman numerals at 7 o'clock.

Born during the First World War, the Tank was one of Cartier's first wristwatches. The success was immediate and other variants emerged. It was in 1933 that the first Tilting Tank was presented.

Unlike the Reverso by Jaeger-Lecoultre, Louis Cartier invents watch that flips upside down inside a swinging frame.

It has the manual winding caliber 6.10 with crown at 12 o'clock done by the Frédérique Piguet Manufacture, one of the most prestigious manufactures of movements of the Swiss watch industry since 1858.

The Tank Basculante is intended for a clientele who wanted a watch in which bezel and dial could be effectively protected against shocks during the practice of golf or polo.
