Launched in 1978, as the "Quantième Perpétuel Automatique", this thin, elegant line of self-winding perpetual calendar became one of the most desirable complicated watches at the time. Following the initial reference 25657, this example is a reference 25661 that is characterised by its extremely rare sapphire-crystal case-back.

According to research this reference was produced from 1985 to 1994 in 342 pieces of which only 250 were ever made in yellow gold, a piece of perpetual calendar history complete with its original accessories.
